Career Services Training Manual (Introduction)

A Centre for Career Services (CCS) is a strategic institutional unit that bridges the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. Globally, career services are an integral part of Higher Education systems. The International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS) and UNESCO (2015) recommend that Higher Educational Institutions (HEI’s) institutionalize such services to foster lifelong learning, social inclusion, and workforce adaptability. Establishing and resourcing this centre at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi will directly align the Institution with global best practices and position its graduates for meaningful careers in both local and international labour markets.
