12. Monitoring and Evaluation

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Number of students placed in internships/jobs
• Attendance at workshops and events
• Student and employer satisfaction ratings
• Number of active partnerships
• Skill acquisition outcomes from training programs

13. Format

Career counselling and advising can be done in different ways including working with students individually or in groups. When working with groups of students in the context of an ongoing career group, it is important to limit the group to approximately six to ten students so that they are comfortable with each other and feel free to contribute their questions and comments within the group. For this type of a group that guides students through the career exploration process, approximately three or four sessions are recommended lasting two hours each. For workshops that are primarily focused on disseminating information, the number of students in attendance can be increased. And they are done as follows:

• Initial Assessment: Use tools like interest inventories and skills assessments to understand students’ aspirations.
• Goal Setting: Help students define short-term and long-term career objectives.
• Action Plan Development: Guide students in creating actionable steps to achieve their goals.
• Follow-Up: Monitor progress and provide ongoing support and adjustments as needed.
